Delete Your Account and Data

This page explains how to delete your Lingara account and the personal data that goes with it. Lingara is published by Spinning Cat Studios. If you want to limit how your data is used without deleting your account, you can instead turn off "Help improve Lingara" in Settings → Privacy & AI in the app.
Delete your account in the app
If you can sign in, the quickest route is in the app itself. The steps are the same on Android and iOS:
- Open Settings
- Tap Account
- Scroll to Danger Zone
- Tap Delete My Account
- Re-type your account email address to confirm, then tap Delete
Subscriptions and billing
If you subscribed with a card through the website or the Android app, deleting your account cancels your subscription and billing stops.
If you subscribed through the App Store, deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Apple does not allow us to cancel App Store subscriptions on your behalf — you must cancel it yourself in your App Store subscription settings, or Apple will keep billing you.
If you can no longer sign in
If you have uninstalled the app or lost access to your account, email support@getlingara.com from the email address registered to the account and ask us to delete it. We will act on your request within 30 days.
If your email address does not match an account, we will ask you for proof of ownership before deleting anything, rather than guess. Deleting the wrong account cannot be undone, so write from your registered address if you can.
What is deleted, what is kept, and for how long
Deleting your account has the following effect on each kind of data we hold:

Opting out of AI training ("Help improve Lingara" in Settings → Privacy & AI) does not delete data we have already stored, and it does not stop us storing more. It excludes your data from every future training export within 24 hours, and deleting your account excludes you automatically from then on. Files we have already exported are not rewritten. We delete each export file within 12 months of the date we made it.
Data held by third parties
Some data about you is processed by the third-party services named in our Privacy Policy. Deleting your account affects them as follows:
