Lingara Guides

The docs are the manual: install it, sign in, find the button. These guides are the other half — what the app is actually doing when you press it, written from the code that does it rather than from a description of it.

Each guide is about one mechanism, and each one ends up somewhere slightly uncomfortable, because the honest version of a mechanism usually does. The scheduler has a rule for a miss that costs you more than you expect. Your lesson plans outlive your account on purpose. Two of the thirty languages have nine real levels and the rest quietly invent their top three. Learning a right-to-left language does not flip the app, and there is a reason it should not.

Every factual claim in these pages is written against a named revision of the code that makes it true, listed in each guide’s own frontmatter. When the code moves, the claim is re-checked against the new revision and the record advances; a guide whose source we could not check is a guide we would rather not publish. That is what the reviewed, reviewedBy and sources fields at the top of each file are for.
