AI Transparency

What AI does Lingara use?

Lingara uses large language models (LLMs) provided by third-party AI providers to generate lesson content, vocabulary exercises, and tutor chat responses. These models process your selected language pair, proficiency level, and practice history to create personalised learning material.

What data does AI process?

When generating content, the AI processes the following information:

  • Your selected source and target languages
  • Your current proficiency level
  • Your saved vocabulary and recent exercise history
  • Any topic or context you provide when creating a lesson plan
  • The messages you send to the AI tutor and the tutor's replies

What AI does NOT do

Lingara's AI is designed for content generation only. It does not:

  • Certify language proficiency or fluency
  • Assess employment readiness or academic placement
  • Diagnose learning disabilities or difficulties
  • Make consequential decisions about users — all content is practice material, not evaluation

Transparency and your rights

Under the EU AI Act (Article 50), we are committed to transparency when you interact with AI-generated content:

  • The Lingara app clearly labels AI-generated content and provides an explanation of how each lesson was created
  • You can see disclosure metadata on lesson plans, vocabulary, and tutor responses in the app
  • You can opt out of AI training data usage at any time in Settings → Privacy

Report harmful or inaccurate AI content

If you encounter AI-generated content that is harmful, offensive, or significantly inaccurate, please report it by emailing support@getlingara.com or using the in-app feedback feature. We review all reports and take corrective action where needed.
