Lingara Developer Terms

1. Acceptance and versions
These Developer Terms apply to anyone who builds on the Lingara platform: the developer portal, the API, OAuth clients, webhooks and published apps (together, the "Platform"). They add to the Lingara Terms of Service, which still apply to your use of Lingara itself. You accept these terms at the developer portal, and your acceptance is recorded against the version shown above. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Developer accounts
A developer account is created when you accept the current version of these terms at the developer portal while signed in to your Lingara account. You are responsible for everything done through your developer account and for keeping the details you give us accurate.
3. Credentials and OAuth clients
Client secrets, API keys and access tokens issued to you are yours to keep secret. Do not share them or build them into code that runs on a learner's device, and rotate them promptly if you suspect they have been exposed. Each OAuth client should request only the access its features need.
4. API use, credits and limits
Your use of the API draws on your plan and your credits, under the limits your plan publishes. We may slow down or refuse requests that go beyond those limits. Do not try to get around limits, credit metering or access controls, for example by spreading traffic across several accounts or clients.
5. Published apps and review
Apps you publish on Lingara are reviewed before learners can use them. We may decline an app, or withdraw a published one, if it breaks these terms, misleads learners or does not work as described. You remain responsible for your app's content and behaviour.
6. Learner data and webhooks
Learner data you receive through the API or webhooks may be used only to provide your app's features to the learner it belongs to. Do not sell it, use it for advertising, or combine it with other data to identify learners. Keep it secure, and delete it when the learner removes your access or when you no longer need it. Our Privacy Policy describes how Lingara itself handles learner data.
7. Prohibited use
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose, or to harm, deceive or harass learners
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, overload or interfere with the Platform or with other developers' apps
- Impersonate Lingara or another developer, or suggest that Lingara endorses your app without our permission
- Scrape, bulk-download or resell Lingara content or learner data
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or revoke your credentials, apps or developer account if you break these terms or if your use puts learners or the Platform at risk. You may stop using the Platform at any time. To close your developer account, contact support@getlingara.com.
9. Intellectual property and licence
You keep ownership of your app and its content. You grant Spinning Cat Studios a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and review your app's content so that it can be offered to learners on Lingara. Lingara's content, design, software and brand remain the property of Spinning Cat Studios, and these terms give you only the access needed to build on the Platform.
10. Disclaimer
The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Interfaces and features may be added, changed or withdrawn.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spinning Cat Studios shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.
12. Changes and re-acceptance
We may update these terms. When we do, the version shown above changes, and you must accept the new version at the developer portal before you can make further changes through your developer account.
