Fouten en herhaalpogingen

Elke mislukking die een bibliotheek opwerpt, is een van vier fouten, en alle vier delen een basistype, zodat één handler ze allemaal kan opvangen.

  • API-fout. De API heeft het verzoek geweigerd. De fout bevat de HTTP-status, een stabiele code om op te vertakken en een bericht in de taal die je hebt gevraagd.
  • OAuth-fout. Het token-endpoint heeft je inloggegevens of de gevraagde scopes geweigerd.
  • Onderhoudsfout. De API is kort niet beschikbaar wegens onderhoud.
  • Transportfout. Er kwam geen bruikbaar antwoord: de verbinding mislukte of verliep, of het antwoord kon niet worden gelezen.

Een aanroep annuleren is geen fout. Het komt naar boven als de eigen annulering van je taal.

Wat opnieuw wordt geprobeerd

Een 429 of 503 die aangeeft hoe lang je moet wachten, in een Retry-After-header van 60 seconden of minder, wordt na precies die wachttijd opnieuw geprobeerd. Een aanroep doet hoogstens 3 pogingen. Je kunt herhaalpogingen uitschakelen door het maximum op 1 te zetten.

Al het andere wordt meteen opgeworpen:

  • een 429 of 503 zonder Retry-After;
  • een wachttijd van meer dan 60 seconden, die de bibliotheek niet binnen je aanroep wil doorbrengen. De fout bevat retry_after, zodat je de herhaalpoging zelf kunt inplannen;
  • een transportfout, omdat het verzoek de API misschien al heeft bereikt;
  • elke stream die al een event heeft geleverd.
